Our Family Pictures // Keeping Up

our family picturesPhotography by Christina Ferrie Photography

Merry Christmas Eve, everyone! I hope you all are enjoying your time with loved ones and indulging in some goodies! I know I am. I love having Brody home more since he is a teacher and is blessed with two weeks off! Noelia loves the extra time with her Daddy. I thought today would be the perfect day to show you all our family pictures that we took a few weeks ago.

This year I totally dropped the ball on scheduling family pictures! I always have them scheduled to shoot by Noelia’s birthday (October) so we can also utilize the pictures for her birthday pictures as well. My usual go-to photographer was booked up so I was so relieved when I found Christina to shoot our pictures (thank goodness for Facebook!). When we booked the date to be in December, I knew it would be cold for our photo day, but little did I know it would be the day Omaha got covered in a Winter Wonderland. I really didn’t think we would be able to go through with pictures but we did them anyway and I am SO happy we did. The area our photographer found reminds me of Chronicles of Narnia when Lucy finds Mr. Tumnus. I swear I kept looking for the light pole! It was so dreamy…and so cold ;).

Can we all take a moment to realize how much Noelia and Brody look alike? Same eyes…same smile…I’m literally the odd one out…next baby? Maybe?

Funny story about Noelia’s clothes in these pictures. I ordered them from Old Navy a few days before Black Friday since they were 50% off. Shipping was actually free but I decided to pay more to get them here sooner since I knew our pictures were only a week and a half away. I figured Black Friday orders would back up delivery a bit. WELLLLLL that shot me in the butt because the clothes didn’t arrive on time despite paying the extra money. So the day of pictures I had to rush to Old Navy after church and re-buy everything she needed for the pictures (at a more expensive price) just to have her covered up in a blanket the whole time, ha! Of course I would rather have her warm than freezing, but I was definitely a little upset at myself. Hashtag FAIL.

“Okay, everyone sit still, smile, try not to look cold!”

After this shot we practically ran to the car with our frozen feet…but these pictures were so worth it!!! I love how unique they are and how what seemed like a bad day was the most beautiful day to capture. So happy Christina was an amazing sport and froze with us!

Merry Christmas, everyone!!

Thanks for the shout out, Nicky! Your family is beautiful and I agree- what seemed like a bad idea with snow and temps- made the pics so worth it. Iโ€™m in love with the pics.
