Hello my Beautiful Readers!! I trust that you all have been having the best Summer! I know that Summer doesn’t officially start for another week, but I still go by school months 😉 haha. When it is hot outside, it is Summer to me! We have been enjoying our time the last few weeks traveling (posts to come!) and I also had Baby Girl’s Baby Shower! I partnered with Basic Invite for my shower invitations and I love how they turned out. So simple yet chic!
I cannot believe that her time in my tummy is coming to a close. I am currently 34 weeks pregnant so we are now in “let’s panic and get every thing done” mode! It is crazy how fast this pregnancy went. With Noelia it felt like it took foreverrrrr but with this one her time in my belly has felt like the snap of a finger! It is true what they say; once you have kids time flies.
I wanted to keep this Baby Shower small and simple. I love how big Noelia’s was but with how busy we have been I just wanted something intimate! It is not that I felt Baby Girl #2 wasn’t deserving of a big shower. After your first baby you realize what you really need and don’t need and thankfully we have blessed by so much! For the most part, our baby needs have always been met (plus I am super picky clothes) ;). I invited close family and a few friends to join in on celebrating Baby Girl and the closeness of the group had me feeling an abundance of thankfulness. Life gets crazy. Life gets busy. As the seasons of life come and go so do some relationships. I am thankful to have strong bonds with some gals in my life that I know will go above and beyond any amount of time together and/or apart. That is what means the most to me over having a huge shower or any event, the ones that show up when you haven’t spoken in a long time. To me that means more to me than any gift!
Both girls’ rooms are blushes and golds so I wanted to use that same theme for the Baby Shower. I chose a foil invitation that complemented the theme really well. Basic Invite offers foil cards in gold, silver and rose gold. Customers are able to choose flat or raised foil. I went with flat. Basic Invite also has custom samples that you can have sent to you before you decide to commit to a big purchase. The last thing you want is to get stuck with over 100 invites that you ended up not loving in person! You save time and money! My girls! I used these photos and frames at my shower. The photo of Noelia kissing my belly is really special to me. She is going to be the BEST Big Sister. I don’t just say that because it is the Mommy thing to say, I truly believe it! She is a nurturer at heart and has such a caring spirit. She is always concerned about those around her and that Girl LOVES taking care of her little doll babies. I have a feeling these two girls will be inseparable. I cannot wait to watch that Sister Bond through the years.
I had my shower at a local bakery and we added some simple centerpieces to the tables. The gold mason jar with flowers are actually from Noelia’s shower. I kept it and it is now décor for her room. All the flowers are real on the tables; the eucalyptus leaves, baby’s breath, and pink roses. We also had small bath bombs for party favors! We didn’t really do any games at my shower but Basic Invite does offer them to match your invitations. You can find creative baby shower games and fun baby shower games on their site!
