Happy Friday, Girls! Another week has come and gone which means we are that much closer to Christmas! It is starting to get hectic over here as I am trying to keep up with work and getting all those gifts bought! I am so on top of things usually but for some reason Christmas gift buying is always a struggle for me! Before things get too crazy, I wanted to share with you all our Master Bedroom Renovation! I shared most of the room a few weeks ago on MY INSTAGRAM. I shared THIS POST with my Instagram family and highlighted the work Brody did on this room! We started to do work in here in late May and the final touches are finally complete! So here it is, our Master Bedroom!
Our Master Bedroom Renovation
I unfortunately do not have much for before photos in here. I completely spaced to take some but here is a small idea of what the original fireplace looked like. One word…OAK. That dreadful 90’s and early 2000’s trend that makes no sense to me! The room had so much potential I just knew we could do some serious renovation damage in here! I wanted to completely transform the fireplace and make it something that was classic yet modern. I originally wanted shiplap on top of the mantle and tile below but I quickly changed that thought to all shiplap. I am so happy I went in this direction. It is light, airy, and so pleasing to look at the moment you walk into the room.
Brody was so happy I went with this direction, too. Shiplap is so easy compared to tile work and this didn’t take him too long to do. He put it all up and I did all the painting. I love how the wooden mantle just pops and allows for so many decor ideas. I can easily switch out seasonal decor and make it something new whenever I please.
The cutest photo bomber 😉
I added this King of Christmas tree to the corner of the room for the Christmas season. I have yet to find the perfect spot for the mirror to the right of it but I actually love it just sitting there on the floor. It makes the room feel bigger with the tree’s reflection in it. You can find the exact mirror HERE. It is ON SALE! I wrapped one of my favorite chunky knit blankets around the bottom. I think it looks really cute and gives it a more cozy feel versus a tree skirt or collar. What do you think?!
I promise I do not have two trees in our room! I actually took both pictures at different times and moved the tree to the barn door side. Now that I see these pictures together, I totally like the idea of two trees. Brody will probably think differently about that!
Our newest addition…the herringbone barn door!! She is finally up and oh so pretty. We waited months to get her up! We ordered it off of Lowes. It is great quality but it did not come black like the description said. To me it looked more brown than anything. We decided to purchases a matte black paint and paint it ourselves. We took our time with the paint and finally got it hung last week. The deep, black barn door was actually Brody’s idea and I love him for it!! He was so right…the room needed SOMETHING. This barn door is that something and it definitely pops against all the light accents around it. Our wall color can be found HERE and the barn door color can be found HERE.
I am so happy I went with a brass handle! It complements the door and room so well.
Another Roo photobomb 😉
