Hey Family! Long time no see over here, right?! WELL…if you can see by the above image life has been going and GROWING! We are about to welcome our third baby, our first Schmaderer to be native to Arizona! We are over the moon to welcome this sweet baby. I apologize for the lack of posts on my website but I am going to be using the newborn bubble stage as my time to get back to it! I wanted my first blog post back to be a powerful one–today I am explaining on why I had such a powerful creature in my maternity photos. Let’s get to it!
MY DESERT MATERNITY PHOTOS
Horses mean strength. Horses mean resilience. Horses mean healing for The Schmaderers. When Noelia was 3, she was in a tragic freak accident where she was hit by a car and swept under the cab. The driver was an elderly gentlemen who confused the break for the gas. Noelia was under the car while the driver was still revving which caused her to receive third degree burns to her leg from laying in a fetal position.
By the grace of God, she was placed perfectly under the car, in-between he wheels, where the only injuries she received were those burns, a mangled arm, and cuts to her forehead. My Dad, a former policeman, was the person to pull her out from under the car and something he said will always stay with me…
“She was the only person I pulled out from under a car alive”
What appeared to be a mangled, broken body filled with burns showed up to the ER with a majority of her injuries healed. A miracle from God, an instant healing of a 3 year old girl our Heavenly Father was not done using yet.
In the weeks to follow, I would be taking Noelia to the burn unit in Omaha to receive care for her severe burn on her leg. I would be taking her to therapy & watching my first born baby try to explain and come to terms with the tragic accident that happened to her. I would watch her get anxious in parking lots & around cars…scared that anything could and would hurt her.
In all of this, Noelia was introduced to a horse named Mateo which changed it all for her. The owner of Mateo wanted Noelia to receive 1 on 1 therapy to help her open up about her accident. In those sessions, I saw my daughter happy. I saw my daughter strong. I saw my daughter heal.
Horses mean more to us than anyone will ever know. Horses remind me to keep preserving & to keep healing as a Mother. So if you’re wondering “why the horse?”…this is why. Noelia is my why. Motherhood & the strength it represents will always be my why.
My Miracle, My Vida!
These photos means so incredibly much to me. Motherhood is a never ending journey of ups and downs, but I am so incredibly thankful for it. How blessed are WE, Mamas? How blessed that we get to feel and experience such a divine love and calling? Words will never be able to express how much my role as a mother has changed me. I am so dang thankful.
